COMPOSITION HARP
General:
Information on the Harp-Competition for 2012
The aim:
In order to support young female and male harpists the annual harpist-competition is advertised by the foundation executive Dr. Ernst Grossmann for the Franz
Josef Reinl foundation in cooperation with the universities, colleges and conservatories for music.
The background:
The Franz Josef Reinl Stiftung was established by Hilde Reinl, the wife of the composer Franz Josef Reinl, who dies in 1977, and mother of the deceased
harpist Herrmann Ertl, in their honour and in order to support young male and female musicians. Franz Josef Reinl (1903-1977) from 1926 on composed upon
suggestion of Clemens Krauss light music on a higher level such as overtures, concert waltzes, suites and five dramatic works.
Mr. Ertl was an internationally renowned harpist.
Participants:
Invited are female and male harpists, born later than January 1st, 1988, who have not yet finished studying the harp and present a certificate of studies.
Former prize winners of the highest award are excluded.
Qualification:
Recital of the following works by heart with the exception of the contemporary work is requested.
1. Part:
1. J.S.Bach: an invention from "Inventions in two voices" BWV 772-786 (original text)
2. A romantic or an impressionistic opus.
3. An Opus composed later than 1980.
2. Part
C-Debussy "Danses" Accompanist with string quartet
(will be placed at disposal)
Art director and jury:
Univ. Prof. Adelheid Blovsky-Miller (University for music and performing art, Vienna, will function as art director 2012. A jury, consisting of femal and
male professors for harp will decide on the award of the prizes.
Legal proceedings are bared.
The prize:
In the year 2012 the foundation will give cash prizes. The Reinl prize for harps amounts to: for the 1st Euro 2.200,-, for the 2nd Euro 1.500,-, for the 3rd
prize Euro 1.200,--.
The prizes will be documented by diplomas.
Presumably the prizes will be awarded in June 2012 in Vienna, Austria. Participation of the winners in the concert is obligatory.

Certificates, curriculum vitae and certificate of studies of the participants as well as an expert opinion of the teachers are to be sent to the address

With their registration the participants accept the conditions of participation. Let us know all pieces which will be performed with the registration.
Time and place:
The competition will be held on 10th and 11th of March 2012 in Vienna, Austria.
Apart from a retention of Euro 100,-- the Franz Reinl foundation will bear the travel expenses for public transport in Austria and the costs of the stay for non-resident participants.
