Sixth International Harpworkshop Italië

Dear Harpist, I am pleased to present the program of the SIXTH INTERNATIONAL HARPWORKSHOP that will take place from July 5th to the 15th in Italy, atthe Santuario di Crea, not far from Milano Malpensa International Airport.

The Workshop is a meeting point for international harpists and harpstudents. Its aim is to broaden the horizon of harp players thatsearch for new and better ways to perform and express themselves. The program of the Workshop is varied and new every year: this yearoffers recitals, master class and seminars with ELIZABETH VOLPE'BLIGH, Principal Harpist of the Grammy-winning Vancouver Symphony aswell as teacher at UBC, TWU, VSO School of Music, Vancouver Academy ofMusic, BRENDA DOR-GROOT and SABINE MEIJERS, creative and innovative jazz harp players who gave birth to the International Jazz HarpFoundation, LUISA PRANDINA, Principal Harp at La Scala TheatreOrchestra and Philharmonic of Milan, MARGHERITA BASSANI, PrincipalHarpist at the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale RAI of Turin, and myself.

More over DARIA MICHELETTI will give harpists the possibility to relaxand improve the awareness of body movements in her lessons on theFeldenkrais Method. The Workshop is always open to new ideas and collaborations withteachers or harpists that want to contribute with a recital, a masterclass or a course. I am looking forward to hearing from you. International Harp Worksop
o.a. Jazz & Improvisatie cursus door IJHF Sabine Meijers & Brenda Dor-Groot (10-15 juli)
Santuario di Crea, Italy

Full participants: € 350
Fee includes:
- full tuition: four individual lessons, including a master class, a course of five collective lessons on jazz and    improvisation and, upon request, 
lessons with Luisa Prandina and Margherita Bassani (limited availability)
- intensive music activities – including listening to lessons, a student final performance and at least two recitals by the teachers.

Listeners: € 100 Fee includes everything described above, except tuition

ACCOMMODATION The Sanctuary’s convent offers comfortable recently restored rooms for ten nights at 270 euro (single room), 430 euro (double room) or 540 euro (triple room). Cost includes the possibility of kitchen facilities in the convent’s “Casa della Gioia” (House of Joy). Within the Sanctuary complex there is a café and a restaurant; transport will be arranged to the nearby town of Moncalvo, twice weekly, for grocery shopping.

In the basic workshops that Sabine and Brenda teach themselves, they inspire students and teachers, amateurs and professionals, to play freely and 
creatively. In a safe environment, participants are learning the very basics of jazz, blues and improvisation, and getting tips & tricks and coaching for 
solos, accompaniment, and band playing in general. The workshops are often topped off with a fun-filled perfomance, partly by participants, partly by Brenda and Sabine on electric harps.
